MUSICAL EXPERIENCE: Mike has been playing trumpet semi-professionally in New York's Capital District for the last 5 years, and at the age of 23, is quickly becoming one of the youngest, most active trumpet players in the area. Michael's playing has taken him all over New York State, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York City, and New Jersey. He has also toured Europe with the American Music Abroad Wind and Jazz Ensembles, played Lead Trumpet with various performing groups at Schenectady County Community College, Lead Trumpet with the College of St. Rose Jazz Ensemble, Principal Cornet of the College of St. Rose Wind Ensemble, Lead Trumpet with the Mohawk Brass, and Principal Trumpet of the University at Albany Symphony Orchestra. He has also played with the Blue Mile Brass Quintet, Vehicle, The New York Players Entertainment Group, the Capital Region Wind Ensemble, and has played and recorded with The Joey Thomas Big Band and the Empire Jazz Orchestra, including performances with jazz greats Wycliffe Gordon and Rufus Reid. Currently, in addition to actively freelancing, he now plays Lead Trumpet with The Refrigerators.
